Tesouro Museu da Sé de Braga

🇵🇹 O Museu-Tesouro da Sé foi criado nas imediações da Sé de Braga em 1930, face ao espólio alargado de peças de arte sacra acumuladas ao longo de séculos. Intitulada de “Raízes de Eternidade: Jesus Cristo – Uma Igreja”, a exposição permanente contempla uma narrativa clara sobre a vida de Jesus Cristo, núcleos temáticos relacionados com a história da Igreja em Braga e um núcleo dedicado à ourivesaria e paramentaria.

A cruz transportada por Pedro Álvares Cabral e usada na primeira missa realizada no Brasil e os sapatos litúrgicos do Arcebispo D. Rodrigo de Moura Teles são algumas das peças expostas no museu. Além destas, estão disponíveis para observação outras relíquias que testemunham, no seu conjunto, mais de 15 séculos da história da Arte e da vida da Igreja em Braga, entre coleções de ourivesaria, escultura, pintura, têxtil, mobiliário, cerâmica e tantos outros objetos ligados ao culto católico.

🇬🇧 The ‘Museu-Tesouro da Sé’ was created in the vicinity of the Braga’s Cathedral in In 1930, because of the extensive collection of religious art pieces accumulated over the centuries. Entitled “Raízes de Eternidade: Jesus Cristo – Uma Igreja” (“Roots of Eternity: Jesus Christ – A Church”), the permanent exhibition contemplates a clear narrative about the life of Jesus Christ, nuclei themes related to the history of the Church in Braga and a nucleus dedicated to jewelery and vestments.

The cross carried by Pedro Álvares Cabral and used in the first mass held in Brazil and the liturgical shoes of Archbishop D. Rodrigo de Moura Teles are some of the pieces on display at the museum. In addition to these, there are other relics available for viewing that testify, as a whole, to more than 15 centuries of the history of Art and the life of the Church in Braga, including collections of jewellery, sculpture, painting, textiles, furniture, ceramics and many other objects linked to Catholic worship.
